Praying through the Psalms

Over the next few weeks Growing in the Gospel provide selected reading in the Psalms. The goal of this study will be to deepen your prayer life. I you read through the Psalms I encourage you to also pray through them. As you pray, consider the following questions:

What does this Psalm say about God? Praise God for who He is.

What does this Psalm say God has done, is doing, or is going to do for us? Thank God for His gifts.

What does this Psalm say about human frailties or rebellion? Confess before God how we fall short.

What requests does this Psalm bring before God? Think through your own situation that might correspond do this request. Ask God for help for your situation.

I will be including these four questions after each Psalm. There will also be occasional interpretative notes, but not every time. Additional reading will take you through the book of Genesis.
