April 19, 2017 – Ephesians 4:25-27

Reading: Ephesians 4:25-27

Questions for observation and application:

What are we told to “put off”? Why?

What do these verses say about sin? About the devil?

The two topics in this passage, lying and anger, are both sins which would harm the body. They are sins against other people. The final verse, “do not give the devil a foothold”, probably refers specifically to anger. Nursing a grudge or an angry spirit opens a person up to other, more serious sins. Paul wants us to deal with our anger quickly.

Are you guilty of speaking falsehood or of holding onto a grudge? Ask the Lord to forgive you, and then make it right with your neighbor.
