April 10, 2017 – Ephesians 4:1-5

Reading: Ephesians 4:1-5

Questions for observation and application:

What commands does Paul give (v1-3)?

What is the basis of our unity? What do Christians have in common (v4-5)?

Notes: Paul commands us to seek unity through humility, gentleness, and patience. He grounds that unity in a sort of creed, emphasizing those things which bind believers. The “creed” has three parts: Verse 4 focuses on the Spirit, verse 5 on the Son (“one Lord”), and verse 6 on the Father.

Are you living a life worthy of the calling you have received?

Are you making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit?

How can focusing on what unites you with other believers help you seek peace with them?
