April 5, 2017 – Ephesians 3:14-19

Reading: Ephesians 3:14-19

Questions for observation and application:

How is the Father described?
What does Paul ask for the Ephesians?
What does Paul want the Ephesians to know?
What are the “end results” of Paul’s prayer (v17, v19)?

This is a beautiful and rich prayer. There are two main requests that follow a similar path. First, Paul prays that God will give the Ephesians power so that Christ may dwell in their hearts. Then he prays that God will give them power so that they may know Christ’s love so that they may be filled with the measure of God. In both paths, God grants the power (and knowledge) necessary for the believers to be filled up with Christ.

Ask God to give you the kind of grace described in this prayer. Pray this for your family. Pray this for your church.

What would be different in our lives if we were able to fully grasp the incredible love of God?
