March 29, 2017 – Ephesians 2:11-13

Reading: Ephesians 2:11-13

Questions for observation and application:

What are the two things Paul’s readers are told to remember?

What was their state before Christ?

What has happened now in Christ? How did God do it?

Before Christ, are seperated in four ways: (1) seperate from Christ, (2) excluded from citizenship, (3) foreigners of the covenant, and (4) without God. When Christ brings us near through the cross, then, we are united with Christ, reconciled to God, become partakers in the new covenant, and become citizens of the people of God.

Like 2:1-4 Paul emphasizes the big difference between life without Christ and life with Christ.

What was your life like before Christ?

If you were saved at a young age, how might your life have turned out if you hadn’t decided to follow Christ?

How is your life different since (or because) you decided to follow Christ?
